What is an Apple Digital Master?
Apple Digital Masters (ADM) is Apple's quality standard for masters that are created to remain clean, transparent, and distortion-free even after being converted to Apple's AAC format.
When you upload your master, Apple re-encodes the file. If a master is pushed too hot (for example, with too little headroom or peaks that are too high), the encoding process can introduce clipping, harshness, or unwanted artifacts. An Apple Digital Masters master is therefore crafted and checked to translate optimally through this conversion — with controlled peaks, healthy dynamics, and maximum clarity.
ADM doesn't mean "louder" — it means "better translation": your track will sound closer to your original master on Apple Music, more defined, and overall more polished, especially on headphones and in modern, dense productions.
About me

As an Apple certified mastering engineer from Germany, I work with artists and teams from the final sonic vision all the way to a release-ready master. Over the past few years, I've delivered more than 200 songs across a wide range of genres for many different clients from all over the world — including projects within the Universal Music network. Some of these productions have gone on to land in 25 Apple Editorial Playlists.
For me, sound isn't just technical — it's craft and precision, and that level of care is something you can hear in the final result. I value collaborations that go beyond a one-off delivery: building long-term, trust-based relationships, communicating openly, and bringing out the very best in every song.

How it works
1. Upload & information
You send your final stereo master (at least 24-bit, ideally without limiter & without clipping).
2. Optimization for Apple playback
Mastering with a focus on dynamics, transients and clean loudness – optimized for the Apple ecosystem.
3. ADM check with Apple Tools
Checking for clipping/encoding headroom and clean true peak values to ensure that AAC encoding does not produce artifacts.
4. Final master
Delivery of the final 24-bit master file.
